To Moms!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

This weekend is the great celebration of mothers. As I'm writing this, my DH has taken my two older sons shopping. You got it - the BIG Mother's Day gift. LOL! I've been coaching my kids to tell their father that "mommy needs a nice gift." Surprisingly, before my kids could say anything, he told me he was taking them on his own! I'll give him points for that. Of course, I've been reminding him - gently - that this weekend was the day.

I don't usually get caught up in "special" days, but I'm going to enjoy it this year! Maybe I'm feeling extra needy or tired or something. All I know for sure is I'm looking forward to it. I like the idea of my boys picking out their own gifts for me. It shows their little hearts. That being said, I may end up with a superhero nightie, towel, cup, shirt or any other assortment of superhero things! LOL! But it's the love behind it that makes it special!

Have a great weekend, y'all!

Oh, it was wonderful! I got a new swing with all the cushioning for my backyard and each of the boys picked out a special Mother's Day book and card. The really special thing was they wrote in the cards by themselves. Well, with a little assistance from dad. And all day long they showered me with hugs, kisses and words of affection.

"Mom, you're so pretty."

"Mom, you're special."

"Mom, you're the best cook."

"Mom, I love you."

"Mom, I really like you."

My love tank is all filled up. I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day as well!

I had the best mother's day ever!! DD said to her friend, what do you get a mom that doesn't like flowers?? So when DH and I came home last evening there DD was with treasures for "Dear Mother"- 4 boxes of chocolate, 3 boxes of different kinds of popcorn and a huge, sharing bag of Cheetos Puffed Cheese Curls!! and the gifts kept coming. Nestled among all the edible delectables were 2 movies. We quickly opened all the chocolate and cheese puffs and plopped in a wonderful violent movie!! Was a mother ever loved so much, I ask you - Thanks go to my Darling Daughter and her Darling Husband for a wonderful day.
