Another One Bites the Dust!

Well, there you have it. Another year has gone and I am officially a year older than I was yesterday. I'm 27. And I tell ya, I'm not liking it. I know, I know. Some of you are thinking, 27? That's nothing!

You know that saying, "Life begins at __." 30? 40? 50? 60? It sure ain't 27! I feel as if I'm entering the beginning of the end....end of my youth, that is. It's like I'm in a transition period, holding my breath and waiting for the next stage of my life to start. Don't get me wrong, I love my life...just not the "27" part of it. LOL!

A couple years ago a girlfriend and I were talking about aging and getting older. We both made the choice to age gracefully. We agreed that we would embrace life and all the changes it brought each year.

And I'm still planning to do that - live life to the fullest, seize the day, Carpe Diem - tomorrow!

Happy Birthday! Did you do anything interesting to celebrate? You're 27, hmmm?

Let's see... at 27 I hadn't even met my husband, still lived footloose and fancy free in my home state of California. I still felt VERY young -- though I suspect much of that had to do with not being a mother.

Now I'm 40 (FORTY! How did that happen?) and have good days and bad days. I'm beginning to get the aches and pains and my hair has a lot more gray. My DD is eight y.o. and my DH is still five years younger than me (I figure that's why I had to wait so long to get married -- my husband had to grow up first, LOL).

It's still good.

Happy Birthday!

The years that hit us hard have no particular number. We each have to crapple with that "end of an era thing." Could let you know that it really gets better and that life does begin at ...., but that still doesn't change the feelings that your feeling right now. Take heart you are still very young and those of us who are older wish we could be that young again.LOL But we'd like to be that young and still be where we're at now in life. Can't have both so I'll take where I am now.LOL

Marianne, my good friend took me out for lunch to celebrate and then I had cake with family and some more friends. All in all, a very nice day...minus the grumpies I couldn't shake. 40, hmmm? At 40 my children will be 18, 16 1/2 and 14. Hmmm? I think I'll be footloose(r) and fancy free(r) then! LOL! I'll take what I can get! :-)

ym, I suppose there are pros and cons to both. I love my life and husband and kids. Don't know why I can't shake this "old" feeling! :-)
