Okay, they say when brilliance stalls, to sit your butt in a chair and WRITE! So, I may not be brilliant, far from it actually, but I'm taking the advice of experts. Since I can't seem to come up with a blog post that's remotely interesting, I figure I'll sit and write, even if I bore you all to sleep at your computers. At least you'll get a good nap. But don't drool on the keyboard.
Ummmm, yeah, got nothing. Let's see.....I need to wash my socks. Seriously. I'm so behind in laundry I've worn the same socks for three days. Ewwww. Yeah. Or maybe I should just buy more pairs. You know what I really hate about buying socks? I can never find any that fit. Honest. I finally broke down and went shopping in the little girls' section of the clothing store - for socks only 'cause I couldn't fit anything else in there even if I gave up chocolate for life. You know what I found out? Even though the socks fit me in length, little girl feet are much skinnier. So now I have socks with the width of pantyhose and none of the stretch-ability. I never thought I'd have to wiggle into a pair of socks, but it's true. However, I've yet to ask Chad, "do my feet look fat in these?"
Chad thinks I should blog about hockey, but I know nothing about that so....nope. Okay, I do know that Sam Gagner, who plays for the Oilers, is doing quite well. I also know that the Oilers have almost no chance of making it into the play-offs. And I also discovered that this is not a subject to poke fun at because it's very serious and you shouldn't say mean things, even in jest, about your husband's favorite team.
My son, Kolten, is two. He actually turned two in February, but just this last week he REALLY turned two. He's opening doors, getting into the piano and computer, throwing regular temper tantrums and bursting into tears a moment's notice. Ah, yes, the two's. The fits, the fights for independence. Could someone please remind him he's TWO and not able to do everything his six year old brother does? But he's adorable. Absolutely adorable. I do so love this age, even with its challenges.
Hmmm, let's see, what else can I bore you with....oh, I slipped and fell on the ice a few days ago. I have some massive, colorful bruises in some very private places and more sore muscles than I knew existed. I laid in bed for the entire afternoon, on my side 'cause I couldn't lay on my back due to the bruising, and watched five glorious hours of Wives and Daughters. I followed that with an even more wonderful four hours of North and South. *sigh* The perfect prescription.
Okay, I'm done. I hate to say it, but I've exhausted even the boring in my life. So there. Now, WAKE UP!! Wipe the drool off your chin, and get back to work. I hope you had a good nap with sweet dreams.

I have no clue what "Wives and Daughters" is, but I'm glad you got time to watch it, despite the bruises!
Hockey is a very serious subject here as well... "our" Colorado Avalanche are currently in the number seven spot and hanging on by their fingernails, so we're hoping they'll make the playoffs. Even if they did lose in overtime to the Wild last night. Dang it.
LOL on the socks. I don't have that problem--I have big, hunking clown feet. Want to trade?
:-)
You can write about socks as much as you want, cause seriously...I totally missed you and somehow even sock news is more fun than no news! Truly, you have quite a knack, so this was a completely enjoyable post!
sorry about your fall. hope your 'injured areas' are feeling better soon!
welcome back! keep writing even if you have to resort to blogging about dryer lint!
So, I totally agree about the socks. Even when I save my sock package, in a year Wal-Mart doesn't stock them, so I'm starting over again. I hate tube socks, hate socks with bands around the arch, hate non-cushion socks, like white but not black. OK so I may be picky, but that comes with trying tooo many bad kinds over the years. Have a great day resting your back - can't be too careful when your health is at stake!
Your back! =) I was wondering when we would here from you.
I no nothing about Hockey, I am stricyly basketball girl.
Socks? Can you believe that I own, maybe, 4 pairs. I only wear them around the house. lol
Ouch! I know how that feels. At least you had Wives & Daughters to keept you company, good stuff!
lol I know nothing about hockey.
Marianne - W&D is a BBC production. If you like the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice, you'll probably love this one. Though, in my opinion, North and South is better. It's another BBC mini-series. I think the Oilers lost to Colorado last week. LOL! That was NOT a good night around here. ;-)
Jason - It's true that forcing yourself to sit and write is sometimes the only way. It may not be interesting or entertaining, but...*shrug* Thanks for dropping by, though, and suffering through my post. ;-)
His Girl - Dryer lint will probably be next on my list. LOL! It actually feels good to be back. I've missed my blog friends and stayed up waaay too late catching up on past posts on all y'alls blogs.
Anon - I know what you mean. I had great luck at Superstore one day and found THE BEST socks. They fit perfectly. I went back to buy more and have never found them again.
Deb - LOL! I new...er knew what you meant. ;-) Chad has tried to help me understand hockey, but all I hear is blah, blah, blah. I wish I could enjoy it, but the few times I've tried to sit and watch a game I get soooo anxious and frustrated and I start yelling at the t.v. Yeah, I'm slightly competitive. ;-) Would you believe that I rarely wear socks, even when it's blizzarding out? Have you seen North and South?
I keep forgetting to rent Wives & Daughters and North & South...of course I'd probably get overruled in favor of, say, Snow Dogs, or something of the sort. Bummer about falling, though. Hope you're feeling better! We missed you in bloggyville!
Are you sure Kolten isn't just trying to get blogged about on a regular basis, lol? I would swear that is what Judah is doing sometimes. Jericho brought this to my attention when he did something really sweet for his little brother the other day, and Judah hugged him, and I said, "Awwww, that's what I like to see..." and Jericho pops his head up after cuddling his brother, "Let me guess, you're going to blog about this?"
Becky - LOL! That's probably EXACTLY what he's doing! He is such a little card.
Hahah! The sock thing made me literally laugh out loud. I hate buying socks too. It is so hard to find a comfy pair, and if I didn't live in Alberta I'd go barefoot every day!
And I pretty much write every blog post, poem, etc. in the same fashion. Sit, start writing, see what happens :)
I'm still wide awake and there is no drool!! Well, there might be a little because you did say "chocolate". But other than that I'm good!!
Shauna - please sit your butt down and write often! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your "boring" posts. They're not boring at all and they make me giggle, smile, giggle some more, etc.
Don't ask Chad if your feet look fat. No good can come of it because he's a man and probably will say something stupid. Not that he's stupid. But he's a man.
Hockey, hockey, hockey... is there anything else in life? Seriously because I don't know. That's all I hear about, that's all that's on TV. Substitute the Flyers for the Oilers and I think we live the same life. I bought Todd a t-shirt (saw it on Travis' blog) that has a picture of Jesus with a hockey stick and says:
JESUS SAVES, passes to Moses, shoots, SCORES! Irreverant? Probably. Funny? Definitely.
Two is fun - and exhausting - isn't it? God planned it very well. If they weren't so cute at two you'd want to put them away until they're about four.
I hope your bruised and sore self is feeling better! I'm very glad you didn't hurt yourself even worse.
Don't tell your husband I dislike the Oilers. Go Stars!
